Your data in the courses

A fair question before you sign up: what happens to your data when you take one of these courses? The short answer is that you stay in control of it. This page covers your data as a learner. For how the website handles waitlist signups and analytics, see the Privacy page.

Do I have to use my own data?

No. Every exercise uses realistic sample data provided with the course, so you never need to bring spreadsheets, documents, or anything else from work to follow along and finish the material.

Bringing your own work is optional

Once a skill clicks, it's natural to want to point it at your real work. That's your choice, and it's never required. When you do, you decide what to bring, and the course teaches habits for handling data responsibly, such as removing names and identifiers before you use them.

Working with AI tools

The Agentic AI course treats this as a skill in its own right: deciding what company information is safe to give an AI tool, what to keep private, and how to work with sensitive data responsibly. You won't be asked to feed confidential information into any tool to complete the course.

Course tools and where your work lives

  • Python: Most exercises run in browser-based Jupyter notebooks. No installation or cloud account is required. An optional module shows you how to run Python locally.
  • Terraform: The course begins locally and remains cloud-agnostic. Optional DigitalOcean and AWS modules use course-managed cloud access, or you may use your own account.
  • Agentic AI: Access to the guided course platform is included. It runs in a browser, with an optional local setup. Final third-party AI-service account requirements and any usage costs will be shared before enrollment.

Every course can be completed with the provided sample data. You do not need to expose confidential workplace information to use any of these tools.
